Steven graduated from the Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) Physician Assistant program and received his Master’s in Public Health from the University of Texas. He also received his Doctorate of Education in professional leadership from the University of Houston.
For over 23 years, Steve has worked in the Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary (HPB) surgery clinic at MD Anderson Cancer Center, where he currently serves as an APP Manager. He is an adjunct faculty for the BCM PA program and a recipient of the Distinguished Young Alumnus Award.
Steve is also an Associate Editor for the Journal of Advanced Practitioners in Oncology. He is a past president of the Association of Physician Assistants in Oncology and a recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award. He also founded the Surgical Oncology Advanced Practitioner (SOAP) Conference.
Steve has a clinical interest in HPB, surgical oncology, and APP leadership and he is a frequent speaker on these topics.
